Consider a winter approved all-weather tyre for this winter

As winter is approaching it is time to consider what tyre are most suitable for you and your car. If you already have winter tyres, you will need to check the tread depth and evaluate if they are safe to drive with for another season. The worst mistake you can do is to believe that you don’t need winter tyres even though you live in an area that will have freezing temperatures and will see some snow. Driving with tyres that aren’t approved for winter use in these conditions is associated with danger and should be avoided.

You don’t actually need to have snow or ice for the winter tyres to be superior versus summer tyres. The winter tyres are better than summer tyres as soon as the temperature drops below zero degrees. This makes a good case why you should change tyres already from the time when the temperature drops below zero and you are better off using winter tyres during the whole period where you have freezing temperatures.

By using all-weather tyres you have tyres that are able to handle both summer and winter conditions. If they are winter approved, they are able to handle snow and ice safely. This provides you with an excellent option of having all-year round safety when driving, regardless of what weather conditions that you will face when you drive. This will off course be much better than not changing to winter tyres at all or changing tyres too late once snow has arrived. Using all-weather tyres give you a lot of flexibility, as you are not dependent on the weather anymore as you can always drive.

The all-weather tyres are very good options for areas that don’t have clear winter seasons, but they do experience some occasional snow. These are the most common problem areas, as people don’t use any sort of winter tyres and the probability of accidents increases drastically. With all-weather tyres you can keep you and your family safe while driving and without having to worry about weather forecasts.

If you live in areas that have very distinct winters, with several months of winter weather that includes snow. Then the conditions are such that they warrant the use of winter tyres for this period. Here you are better off selecting a set of dedicated winter tyres that can be either studded or non-studded. This will give you the best safety during the winter season, but it does require that you have them mounted before the winter starts and have them on as long as the winter season lasts. If you miss the onset of snow, then you are in danger if you have to drive. Studded tyres can have some limitations and might not be allowed in all countries or on all roads, so you will need to check the local regulations. The non-studded or the all-weather tyres don’t come with any such limitations.
